Some Thoughts from the Governor: Kim Vail
June is upon us and I have been your Governor for a month. Before I start, I want to say it’s a pleasure to be associated with the finest group of men and women I have ever been acquainted with. Many changes have happened over the past year that hasn’t been enjoyed by all of our membership. The Social Quarters has been remodeled and waiting for you to take advantage of the improvements. We have two pool tables that have just been recovered waiting for you to play on. We now have 2 APA pool teams and are looking to form another team. Farkle is going strong and fun for all ages. Bring your family out and have an enjoyable evening. The Fall Dart League is just around the corner and the lodge’s teams are searching members. The lodge would like to be represented at NC Moose Lodge Texas Hold’em Tournament. The goal is to have weekly lodge tournaments with the overall winners representing lodge . we plan to start with two tables and from there. More to come – get with Rob Stewert or me if you are interested. BINGO is going strong and paying $2500.00 in prizes weekly. Doors open at 5:00 PM and games start at 7:00PM. The Community garden is here for you to enjoy the vegetables it’s producing. Come by and see what’s available for harvest each week. As we all know it takes a lot of effort to keep the lodge going and help is going to be needed with the planned fundraisers coming up this fall. As of now there is a Fish Fry planned and a Gun Raffle. These are easy to accomplish if the members chip in. There are some other things that need to be accomplished in the Social Quarters which can be accomplished in one workday. I’ll be looking for volunteers when I get back from vacation. Enjoy the coming summer months. In closing, we must remember a task born by many has a better chance for success than a task born by one.
